Meet at Udupi Upachar Veg Restaurant beside Magadi Road Metro Station. Enjoy a delicious breakfast together before heading out. After breakfast, we depart for the trek base near Magadi town (approx 60-65 km from Bengaluru).

Trek through the Seven Gates
Time: Morning
Begin the trek through the famous Seven Gates - historic stone gateways built by Kempegowda in the 16th century. The trail takes you through rocky terrain and lush grasslands, offering stunning views of the Tumkur district. Stop at the halfway point to visit the ancient Shankareswar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Summit Experience
Time: Late Morning
Reach the summit at approximately 1,130 meters and soak in the 360-degree panoramic views of Tumkur district's rolling hills and farmlands. The vast grassland summit surrounded by massive boulders offers a unique Western Ghats-like landscape. Spend time exploring, clicking photos, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Descent & Lunch
Time: Afternoon
Begin the descent back to the base. The trek takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete (to and fro). After the trek, we stop for a delicious lunch together before heading back to Bengaluru.

- Is this trek suitable for first timers?
- Absolutely! Uttari Betta (also known as Hutridurga) is an ideal trek for beginners, families, and nature lovers. The trail is well defined, the distance is manageable (4-5 km round trip), and our experienced trek leaders ensure everyone completes the trek safely.
- What should I carry for this day trek?
- Carry a basic first aid kit, identity card, cap/scarf/bandana, trekking shoes with good grip, sunglasses, 2 litres of water, lemon and salt or electrolyte powder, high-calorie snacks, sunscreen, and trekking poles (optional). We recommend wearing comfortable, breathable clothing.
- What about food and meals?
- Both breakfast and lunch are included in the package. Breakfast is at the meeting point (Udupi Upachar restaurant beside Magadi Road Metro Station), and lunch is provided after the trek.
- What happens if there is bad weather?
- Safety is our priority. Unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions may lead to cancellation of activities. Please note that once booked, tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
- Is this trek safe for children?
- Yes, children aged 8 years and above can participate with a guardian. The trail is relatively easy and our trek leaders are trained to handle groups with children. We maintain a slower pace when families are part of the group.
- What are the rules during the trek?
- Seats are unreserved and on a first-come-first-served basis. Loud speakers are not allowed during the trek. Participants should behave responsibly - consumption of alcohol or misbehavior may result in removal from the trek without a refund. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before scheduled time.
- Can I join as a solo traveler?
- Absolutely! Many of our trekkers join solo. It is a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends. Our groups are friendly and inclusive, making solo travelers feel welcome.
