Frequently Asked Questions

Is this trip suitable for solo travelers?
Absolutely! Many of our riders join solo and leave with lifelong friends. The group format ensures you are never alone on the road, with a road captain leading and sweep rider at the back. It is perfect for solo travelers, friends, and couples looking to share this adventure.
What riding experience do I need?
You should be a confident road rider with some experience on gravel or off road preferred. Daily riding is typically 5 to 10 hours with varying terrain. We do not recommend this for absolute beginners, but you do not need to be an expert either.
How do you handle altitude sickness?
Our itinerary is designed with proper acclimatization built in. Two full rest days in Leh plus progressive altitude increase drastically reduces the risk of AMS. We carry medical kits with oxygen cylinders and our team is trained to recognize and respond to altitude issues. Daily briefings cover hydration (4L water minimum) and oxygen use.
What happens if the weather is bad or roads are closed?
Our 12 day itinerary has buffer built in for real world conditions. If weather affects key routes like Umling La, we use flexibility in the schedule to adjust. Our local team monitors conditions and adjusts plans when needed while keeping the core experience intact.
Can I join with a pillion?
Yes, pillions are welcome on request. Please mention this during booking so we can ensure appropriate bike allocation and discuss any additional costs involved.
What about privacy in a group trip?
While you travel with a group of like minded riders, you have complete freedom during rest stops and evenings. Accommodations are typically twin sharing, but single rooms can be arranged on request at additional cost. The camaraderie builds naturally without forced activities.
