Day 1: Arrival in Leh
Land in Leh (around 3,500 m) and transfer to your hotel. This is a full acclimatization day with no riding. Hydrate, rest, and let your body adjust to the altitude. If you feel okay by evening, take a short walk to Leh market or Shanti Stupa to catch the sunset. The day ends with a briefing about the route ahead, AMS precautions, and paperwork for permits.

Day 2: Leh Local + Sham Valley & Magnetic Hill (Test Ride)
Once you get the bikes, this is your relaxed test ride and sightseeing day towards Sham Valley and Magnetic Hill. Ride out to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill (about 30 km from Leh on the Leh Kargil highway), and the stunning confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers at Sangam. Use this day to bond with your motorcycle and get comfortable riding at altitude.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
The classic high pass day into Nubra Valley. Start early from Leh (by 8 am), clear the permit check at South Pullu, and climb to Khardung La (approx 17,600 to 18,000 ft), one of the world's highest motorable roads. After a short tea stop at the top, descend into the fertile oasis of Nubra Valley. Visit Diskit Monastery and the giant Maitreya Buddha in the afternoon, then roll down to Hunder's sand dunes for a surreal sunset among snow peaks and Bactrian camels.

Day 4: Nubra Valley to Turtuk and Back
A beautiful border side ride along the Shyok river to Turtuk, then back to your Nubra stay. Hunder/Diskit to Turtuk is around 80 to 90 km one way, with typical riding time of about 2 to 3 hours each side. The village was once in Pakistan and still retains a strong Balti character. Spend 2 to 3 hours walking the village, exploring viewpoints, orchards, and heritage homes before riding back to your Nubra base by evening.

Day 5: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (Merak Side)
The longest and most spectacular riding day of the trip. Leave Nubra early (7 to 8 am) and take the Shyok route via Khalsar, Agham, Durbuk, and Tangtse to reach Pangong Lake. The lakeside stretch from Spangmik to Merak adds roughly another 30 to 35 km, taking you to the quieter side of Pangong away from the tourist crowds. Expect mixed terrain including patchy tarmac, gravel, and small water crossings as you gain height toward the lake.

Day 6: Pangong (Merak) to Leh via Chang La
Start the morning with a walk along Pangong Lake and photos in the golden light, then begin riding by 8 to 9 am. The return route takes you from Merak back along the lakeside stretch through Spangmik and Lukung, then inland via Tangtse and Durbuk to climb Chang La. Descend via Sakti and Karu back to Leh. An early lunch or tea stop at Tangtse or Durbuk breaks the ride nicely. Evening free for cafe hopping, shopping, or simply resting after six days on the road.

Day 7: Departure from Leh
After breakfast, wrap up your trip and transfer to Leh airport for onward flights. No planned riding today. Flight times permitting, there is usually time for last minute souvenirs from Leh's market before the airport drop.

- Is this trip suitable for solo travelers?
- Absolutely! Many of our riders join solo and leave with lifelong friends. The group format ensures you're never alone on the road, with a road captain leading and sweep rider at the back.
- What riding experience do I need?
- You should be a confident road rider with some experience on gravel or off road preferred. Daily riding ranges from 5 to 9 hours with varying terrain. We don't recommend this for absolute beginners, but you don't need to be an expert either.
- How do you handle altitude sickness?
- Day 1 is a full acclimatization day with no riding. The itinerary is designed with progressive altitude increase to reduce the risk. We carry medical kits with oxygen cylinders and our team is trained to recognize and respond to altitude issues.
- What happens if the weather is bad or roads are closed?
- Our local team monitors conditions daily and adjusts plans when needed while keeping the core experience intact. The Shyok route to Pangong has alternative options if required.
- Is petrol included in the trip cost?
- Yes, petrol for the entire trip is included in your package cost. You don't need to worry about fuel expenses during the ride.
- Can I join with a pillion?
- Yes, pillions are welcome on request. Please mention this during booking so we can ensure appropriate bike allocation and discuss any additional costs involved.
