Jowai is a peaceful year – round, whether you’re visiting during the cold season or the rains.
Jowai is easy to reach by road and is well-connected to major cities in Meghalaya and nearby Assam. The most common route is from Shillong, which is about 65 kilometers away and takes around 2 to 2.5 hours by car. You can hire a cab for a more comfortable ride or choose a Sumo. The nearest airport is at Umroi near Shillong, but it has only a few flights. A better choice is Guwahati Airport, around 160 kilometers away, which has more flights from different parts of India. The drive to Jowai is very scenic, with winding roads, green hills, and beautiful views, making the journey relaxing and enjoyable.
